Creating your own texture

Tip: It is not always ideal to use one image as the background. Yet there are various ways of tackling this problem. One would be to adjust the background image to make it suit the theme of the poster. Another would be to only use a part of the background image and blend using textures/other images/brushes etc.

Here is a simple way of how to create your own simple texture to start you off. (Next I will show you how to blend images together)

Tutorial For Designers

Description

To become a successful designer, it is important to create your own style. Sometimes, even without looking at the credits, it’s easy to identify which designer designed the graphic by observing the style only. So, in this tutorial not only will it be giving you useful tips, but also how to develop your own type of style.

Some of these tips may be pointing out the obvious, however there are designers out there who neglect the basics.

Note #1: Just because I'm writing tutorials, does not mean I'm a good designer, nor does it mean I follow every single tip I write. :)

Note #2: I can only do tutorials for PS users, as I have not tried using any other programs. But if programs are similar, you can try to see if the tutorials are helpful

Introduction

Hello everyone,

This is ShadowYin, presenting an introduction for class two students.

First of all, here's the topics that I will cover:
  • Basic HTML
  • Choosing Layouts (Also, how to create simple layouts and what makes a layout good.)
  • Featuring Misc
  • Site Mapping
  • Sidebar Content
To begin with, I'll just explain what HTML and CSS stands for and what they're used for.

HTML stands for Hyper-Text Marked up Language. It's normally used in the site contents. HTML is a easy coding language that does not take a long time to learn.

CSS, however, stands for Cascading Style Sheets, which is generally for the site's layout. CSS is slightly harder, yet it does not differ from HTML that much.

Terms which will also be introduced in this class: Hex colour codes, web host and possibly JavaScript. Therefore, it will be useful if you look up these terms yourself, so you won't get confused during the lessons.

At some point, I will also be issuing assignments which must be completed before the said deadline. Your assignments will be graded and if I think you did not complete your assignment to an appropriate standards, I am permitted to mark it as U (ungraded).

If there are more things you wish to learn in this class, or simply if you've got an questions, please feel free to e-mail me at shadow.y.i.n@hotmail.com. But please be aware that I may not have the answer to everything, nor will I be able to satisfy everybody's commands.

I hope you'll enjoy being in my class.

Thank you for reading.
